Accessibility Statement
Everyone should be able to buy and send a gift card.
Section 01
Our Commitment
Card Voucher is used to send gifts to family, reward colleagues, and buy things people need. None of that should depend on how you see, hear, move, or read. We treat accessibility as part of building the product rather than as a compliance exercise bolted on at the end.
Section 02
Conformance Status
We are working towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. Card Voucher is partially conformant: most of the platform meets the standard, and some parts do not yet.
Section 03
What Is In Place
Across the platform today:
- Pages are built from semantic HTML — headings, lists, navigation landmarks and buttons are marked up as what they are
- Interactive controls are reachable and operable with a keyboard alone
- Images that carry meaning have text alternatives; decorative images are hidden from screen readers
- Zoom is never disabled — you can pinch or scale the page up without content being blocked
- Form fields are labelled, and errors are described in text rather than by colour alone
- Toggle controls expose their state to assistive technology
Section 04
Assistive Technology
We aim to support current versions of the major screen readers and browsers, including VoiceOver on macOS and iOS, TalkBack on Android, NVDA and JAWS on Windows, together with recent versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge.
Combinations we have not tested may still work, and we would rather know when they do not.
Section 05
Language and Direction
Card Voucher is available in English, Arabic, French, Russian and Chinese. Each page declares its own language and reading direction, so a screen reader announces Arabic content in Arabic and lays it out right to left rather than reading it as mispronounced English.
- Language is set per page rather than assumed from the browser
- Right-to-left layout is applied server-side, so it is correct on first paint
- The language you choose is carried across the site as you navigate
Section 06
Known Limitations
Areas we know fall short, and are working on:
- Some third-party payment and verification screens are supplied by our providers and are outside our direct control
- Gift card artwork provided by brand partners may carry text within the image that we cannot alter
- A small number of older interactive components have not yet been re-tested against WCAG 2.2
- Automated translation of interface text may not always match the surrounding content in tone or terminology
Section 07
Giving Feedback
If you encounter a barrier on Card Voucher, tell us. Reports from people actually using assistive technology are more useful than any automated scan.
- Email [email protected] with the word Accessibility in the subject
- Include the page address, what you were trying to do, and what happened instead
- Tell us your browser, operating system and any assistive technology you use, if you are comfortable doing so
We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within two business days and to explain what we intend to do about the issue and by when.
Section 08
Ongoing Work
Accessibility work at Card Voucher is continuous rather than a single project. New features are reviewed for keyboard operation, contrast and screen-reader output before release, and we revisit older parts of the platform as they are rebuilt.
